TESTIMONIALS

I had heard of Avinash Bhagat as an astute birder since about 2 years, but could not do any birding trips with him. Finally in April, 2018, I did my long awaited trip to Chopta and Tungnath. It was a wonderful experience in a beautiful place. He had carefully organized the trip dates keeping in mind religious Chardham yatra coming up later in the month. He is a sharp birder (as he can locate bird even from moving car!!!) as well as good teacher in birding and photography and likes to share his knowledge and experience. I wish him all the success and best wishes for conservation work for ecosystem that he does.
Thank you.

Priti Shah – Chopta, Tungnath Birding Trip April 2018

I had an amazing time in LRK with Avi Sir. As always, the trip was well planned! Individual attention was given to everyone in the group no matter the person is a birder or a novice, Senior or a junior. Good food and budgetary hotel was an icing on the cake! Talking about birding experience: Identifying the bird, explaining their behaviour and habitat is the best part. Avinash’s spotting skills are fantastic. So it becomes easy to spot the bird! Seriously, Birding with AB Sir is full of excitement and learning experience. I look forward to many more birding trips in the upcoming future. Cheers!

Avinash Sharma – Pune, Little Rann of Kutch and Thol Bird Sanctuary Birding Trip – Nov. 17

This was my 1st birding trip outside Mumbai and I had a wonderful time. Good food, Comfortable stay & commuting made it more blissful. Avinash tried his best to cover most of the species and I liked that part of the trip. My target bird was Bar-headed Geese which we couldn’t see on Day 1 due to rains. However, He made sure that we get to see it before leaving (It is not a common bird for in our Mumbai region). Even the Night Trail was an awesome experience. Overall, It was a wonderful and well planned trip. Many more to come Avi Sir!

Avinash Sharma – Pune, Bhigwan Birding Trip – Feb 2015

I have frequently traveled with Avinash (Phansad, Bhigvan, Kaas, Mumbra hill, BPS, Matheran, Abmoli, Paddle, Uran, LRK, Boat ride at Thane creek) I would describe him as a person who is a great help to the nature. he believes in taking care of environment and he values the ethics whenever we are traveling. Awesome GURU who has magnificent obeserving skills, knowledge and a backpack with full of positive approach. If you are interested in exploring the nature he is the correct person for you! In birding, herping, exploring flora and funa and pelagic zone he glitters everywhere!!!

I have been on many a trips with Avinash both birding and herping and have come back fully satisfied. His arrangements are excellent as far as transportation and lodging and boarding are concerned. He goes out of his way to see that we get maximum sightings. He has tremendous knowledge about wildlife and related topics and always willing to share it with you. Always helpful. You gain a lot when you go on trips with him.

My first outing with Avinash and Clara (Junglehike) was to Kaas (the 'valley of flowers') and nearby plateaus in Satara district of Maharashtra in Oct 2015. And what an outing it was! The region is best known for its vast belts of seasonal wild flowers (including some endangered and endemic species) and the fan-throated lizard, in addition to the generally beautiful scenery ― none of which we missed. Of course, you can't come back without a few wonderful bird sightings when you are with these guys, even if it wasn't a birding trip! That's the best thing about Jungle Hike ― the team is both knowledgeable and generous, hence the resulting experience is wholesome. And it didn't hurt that they are super fun company! I could go on... but I'll just say thank you Jungle Hike for a'kaas'merizing trip :)

Nayan Jain - Mumbai, Kaas Botanical Trail - October 2015

I have been on multiple trails and trips with Avinash (Junglehike)... from weekend trips to Himalayan birding. The first thing that strikes you while with Avinash is his knowledge of nature and environment. He is accomplished birder but he is equally knowledgeable about environment and almost all species found in that particular habitat. You are assured to get complete information and details about species - which could be anything from bird to reptiles to even botanical species. And most importantly, Avinash is never hesitant to share his knowledge with participants. And this makes trails with Avinash memorable. Sightings are never guaranteed in nature trails and safaris. But I always got something more than anticipated. As far as my experience goes, I always got so called difficult sightings easily while with Avinash. There is another critical factor which I admire most about trips with Avinash is - he ensures nothing in environment is distrubed or harmed. I have never seen him doing something which will cause even minor disturbance to birds or animals to show something to us (tour participants). I really appreciate that. Never seen him considering business more important than nature and environment. On the other side, tours are well organized and conveniently paced. Food is never a problem and he ensures you get best of local flavour. Overall 10 on 10 for all my tours and trails. My best wishes for Avinash in his forthcoming endeavors.

Being a bird lover, going for exclusive birding trips is always a treat. Two such birding trips to GRK (Great Rann of Kutch) & Chopta (Uttarakhand) with Avinash were a fabulous experience. Avinash's knowledge of birds is quite commendable, so he being there as a mentor, guide makes the field visits a memorable experience. Therefore its always a pleasure to go for birding trips with him.

It has been a fantastic journey learning on several tours under the guidance of Mr Avinash Bhagat. From our start in Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary in 2013 to teaching about various herpetofauna and helping us identify them and teach us on photographing them the ethical way and conserve them. He has built my knowledge around birds and helped me observe them in a better way through trips around Nannaj Bustard Sanctuary, several trips to Bhigwan and local visits. He has completely nurtured the basics about being a naturalist. On the whole he also guided me for my thesis on birds around forested habitat and urbanised habitats. I look forward to more excitement and learning a from his tours. He is an inspiration for several youngsters keen on moving onto a journey in wildlife. Thank you for making my journey very special.

Very informative and a great learning experience with all the fun and masti. As I am new to birding things were explained in detail so nicely and patiently. Again and again I would ask the name of the same bird...but the instructor not only answered but also explained how to identify and remember the names. Your explanation and the knowledge about the birds, wildlife and nature in general is unbeatable. In short... great trip, great sighting, great stay and food, awesome company..... and off course awesome weather... both heat and the rains. Avinash, Praveen and Clara.... thanks a lot for everything... wishing you all good luck and looking forward for more such trips with you guys.

I have travelled across India for birds all over the country with Avinash and other birding resources , but can say for sure that he is the best!! He has one of the sharpest eyes in business. Can spot a Jungle Owlet sitting on a tree while sitting on the back seat of a Bolero. With 800 birds under his belt he is at equal ease with different habitats, Whether it is the Snow Partridge at Tungnath or the Black Baza in the hot and humid, Thattekad forests. Whether it is the Blyth’s Tragopan in Arunachal or the Stoliczka’s Bushchat in LRK. He has seen it all. One thing that I like most about him is that he promises less and delivers more. Something that will leave a good taste on the mouth. His briefings on the day’s proceedings, itinerary and what to expect, what to carry and meal and tea time go as per clockwork precision. His evening discussions on the day’s proceedings are an exercise not to be missed. It is here that you discover the depth of his knowledge and you thank yourself that you chose him. This helps you refresh with the day’s birding and Avinash answers all your queries. Usually held just before dinner, this meeting also helps you get ready for the next day’s birding. Whether you are a birder or a photographer, you would have a great time with him.
